QUESTIONS ABOUT INSURANCE IN GENERAL
What if I want to have damaged items repaired?
Of course, you can get a cost estimate for the repair. However, please discuss this with us before you have the repair carried out. In addition, the repair costs must not be disproportionately high compared to buying a new one (current market price).
Who can I contact with questions or in the event of a claim?
If you have any questions or in the event of a claim, you can contact us by telephone on the service line 0732 2596 or by e-mail at kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at. Alternatively, you can also report the damage using the online claim form on the homepage.
What are the notice periods?
The notice period for fixed-term contracts usually begins 1-3 months before the end of the insurance period.
Attention: The insurer must receive the termination letter at the latest on the last working day before the start of the notice period - namely during its office hours! A common reason why insurers reject cancellations is that the notice period was not met - when an attempt is made to terminate after the notice period has started.
How does the repair and replacement of insured items work?
In the event of a claim, you will receive replacement value compensation from LAMIE for damaged, destroyed or stolen items (replacement costs for the same type, quality and function) if they are actually purchased new and the new purchase is documented with an invoice.
Otherwise, you will receive a replacement at the current value (replacement cost less time-dependent wear and tear). Of course, you can also obtain a cost estimate for the repair. However, please discuss this with us before you have the repair carried out. In addition, the repair costs must not be disproportionately high compared to a new purchase (current market price).
What do I have to pay attention to when reporting damage? What information is needed?
When you first report the damage, it is important that you...
... truthfully and completely (please no "embellished" stories)
... briefly and concisely (approximate extent of the damage: Which rooms are affected? a number of damaged objects etc.)
describe. The LAMIE team will then inform you whether a second, complete and written damage report is necessary. You will receive a form for this purpose. Please describe the damage exactly and send us a damage list with photos and invoices (if available).
Attention: In case of fire, explosion, burglary or robbery damage, you must immediately alert the police or fire brigade. Be sure to keep the police report. You can find more information in our claims checklist.
What should I do if I can’t reach anyone?
We are available by telephone on workdays from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 on the service line 0732 2596.
If you want to report a claim outside these hours ...
... want to report a claim, you can do so using the online claim form under "Report a claim" on the homepage.
... have a question about taking out insurance or about the insurance you have already taken out, please send us an e-mail at kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at or call us again during office hours. How can you cancel insurance?
In the case of fixed-term contracts, the term of the contract usually depends on whether and when you can terminate your old insurance.
There is usually an automatic extension for contracts with a short term (less than 3 years) (e.g. household or motor vehicle liability insurance). This means that they are automatically extended for another contract year if the customer does not cancel in good time before the end of the contract. But don't worry, your insurer must inform you in good time about the possibility of cancellation.
For insurance contracts with a contract term of more than 3 years (up to 10 years can be agreed), there is a special right of termination for consumers, after which you can terminate a contract at least after 3 years (i.e. at the end of the 3rd year).
Regardless of the contract term, there are other termination options, e.g. if you change residence or in the event of a claim.
QUESTIONS ABOUT our home INSURANCE
Can I take out home insurance without liability insurance or the other way round?
The home insurance is a combination product of home and liability. Unfortunately, the two insurances cannot be taken out individually.
What are the notice periods?
The notice period for fixed-term contracts usually begins 1-3 months before the end of the insurance period.
Attention: The insurer must receive the termination letter at the latest on the last working day before the start of the notice period - namely during its office hours! Regardless of the contract term, there are other termination options, e.g. if you change residence or in the event of a claim.
Who stands behind the home insurance?
The home insurance offered is arranged for you by LAMIE as a managing agent (conclusion agent with claims authority). The insurer is ERGO Versicherung AG.
LAMIE only offers this Ergo household insurance product and does not offer any competing products.
How long is the term of the insurance?
The insurance contract is limited to one year. After this one year, the contract does not expire but is automatically extended if it is not terminated at least two months before the period expires. However, you will be informed of your right to cancel in good time by email.
How and when can I cancel the insurance?
The insurance can be cancelled annually but must be cancelled at least two months before the end of the one-year insurance period. Specifically, if you took out the insurance on January 1, 2021, you must cancel it in writing by October 31, 2021 at the latest. After you cancel, you can still enjoy insurance cover until 01.01.2022, 00:01 a.m. You will be informed in good time by email about your right to cancel.
I would like to take out an insurance through LAMIE direkt. When can I terminate my old insurance contract with my previous insurer?
The best option is to check with your current insurance company from which specific day the insurance cover ends. You can choose the exact date on which the insurance cover should start in our order process, i.e. up to 45 days in advance. You can enter the day on which your old insurance cover ends. This way, there is no insurance gap.
Example:
Your old contract with another insurance company expires at midnight on 31.12.2015. Now you have two options:
- You also conclude your new contract with LAMIE with 31.12.2015. You will then be insured more than once for one day, but there will be no insurance gap.
- You conclude the contract with 01.01.2016, 00:01 - this creates an insurance gap of one minute.
Do you need help cancelling your old insurance? The free LAMIE switching service will do it for you.
What is SEPA? And what do I do with it?
SEPA is a payment option where payment is made by direct debit from your account. However, since we are not allowed to debit anything from your account without your consent, we need you to complete and sign the SEPA mandate. With this, you confirm that a certain amount may be debited from your account.
After you have taken out your household or homeowner's insurance online, we will send you a summary of your application and the policy in two separate emails. In addition, you will also receive the most important documents conveniently delivered to your home by post - payment information for the "bank transfer" option as well as your SEPA mandate incl. return envelope. If you would like to pay by SEPA mandate, all you need to do is sign it and return it to us free of charge with the return envelope. The insurance premiums will then be automatically debited from your account. This ensures that you do not unintentionally miss any payment deadlines and enjoy insurance cover at all times.
Do I have a deductible?
When ordering, you can decide whether you want no deductible or a deductible of € 100 or € 250. If you opt for a deductible in the event of a claim, it will reduce your current premium.
How do I get my contract?
After you have completed the order process, you will receive an email confirming the completion of the insurance application within a very short time. With this, we confirm that we have received the application. We will send you a summary of your application and the policy in two separate emails within the next few days.
How do I get detailed information about the products or information on cover?
You can easily download clear information folders on the respective insurances as well as the General & Special Insurance Conditions under Infos & Downloads.
If you have any questions, we are also available by telephone on the service line 0732 2596.When does insurance cover start and what are the requirements for valid insurance cover?
The insurance starts on the date you entered when ordering online. In principle, you can always enter the date of the next day. The prerequisites for a valid insurance cover are:
- LAMIE's acceptance of the application: as soon as you have received the email with the policy, the contract between you and LAMIE has been concluded.
- Your timely payment of the initial premium: In order for your insurance cover to continue from the start of the insurance, you must pay the premium on time. You can find the payment deadline or due date in the premium notice. If you fail to pay the premium within the deadline, LAMIE may be exempt from paying benefits and may withdraw from the insurance contract.
What is the advantage or the remarkable thing about LAMIE?
By taking out online insurance, we convey comprehensive and transparent insurance cover at very affordable premiums. The advantages of LAMIE at a glance:
- XXL protection
The insurance products which LAMIE conveys are characterized by particularly comprehensive insurance protection.
- Replacement as new
In the event of a claim, you will receive the current value and the replacement value of your item. The new value is the replacement price of insured items of the same type and function in a new condition. These include necessary costs to purchase the insured item again or to restore its original condition (e.g. repairs).
Example: If your TV is destroyed by fire, it is not the price at the time of purchase that counts, but the current market price of a new and equivalent TV.
- Underinsurance waiver
In the case of underinsurance, the sum insured is lower than the value of the insured items. With other insurance companies, you will often only receive part of the damage in the event of a claim. We waive the objection of underinsurance and replace the contents of your apartment up to the amount of the agreed sum insured.
- Can be cancelled annually
- Personal service
Via our Service line, we offer personal support for insurance issues, support in the ordering process and telephone support in the event of a claim.
- Roommates included
Not every home insurance is suitable for a shared apartment - the home insurance conveyed by LAMIE is. We not only insure the apartment's contents but also all contents owned by the policyholder and his close relatives and the contents of roommates registered in the same household.
What is really important when comparing insurance?
- Particularly when comparing insurance online, it always depends on which insurance benefits are being compared with one another. Many insurance companies differ, for example, in which causes of damage are covered. [For example, damage caused by indirect lightning strikes is sometimes not covered.] In addition, some insurances also exclude certain types of damage - e.g. glass breakage.
- The sums insured and compensation payments are also very different. A pure premium comparison can unfortunately often lead to bad surprises in the event of a claim.
- The LAMIE insurance checklist offers good instructions for the correct insurance comparison. This checklist is available free of charge under Infos & Downloads and helps you pay attention to the most important points.
What does usable living space mean?
Usable living space is the total area of all rooms that directly serve the purpose of living. For example:
- Living rooms: such as living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, corridors and hallways, study rooms;
- adjoining rooms: such as anterooms, broom closets, pantries and other closet spaces;
- Corridor areas in living areas, attic and basement areas converted for living purposes;
- Kitchens, bathrooms and toilet rooms, conservatories;
- rooms that meet a high standard of living (e.g. indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness rooms).
The area of a room is calculated as net area, i.e. without walls, wall openings or wall recesses for doors, windows and the like.
What does secondary area mean?
Ancillary area is the sum of the areas of all rooms that belong to the building or group of buildings but do not directly serve the residential purpose. "Undeveloped" means that the areas do not directly serve the residential purpose. For example:
- undeveloped cellar rooms including corridor and storage areas;
- unfinished attic rooms including corridors and storage areas;
- storage rooms outside the usable living space;
- workshops, garages, refuse collection rooms, shelters, laundry rooms, drying rooms, boiler rooms;
- accessible installation niches, shafts and corridors as well as lift drive rooms, lift shafts.
The area of a room is calculated as net area, i.e. without walls, wall openings or wall recesses for doors, windows and the like.
QUESTIONS ABOUT our WEDDING WEATHER INSURANCE
How much does wedding weather insurance cost?
The one-off premium is calculated individually depending on the date and location of the wedding. After taking out the wedding weather insurance on our homepage, you will immediately receive your policy and your premium proposal by e-mail.
The wedding weather insurance is available from a premium of € 179.
What happens if I do not pay the premium on time?
The insurance premium must be paid by the 21st day before the insured wedding. If payment is made too late, we will unfortunately no longer be able to insure the wedding. Late payments will be refunded by us.
Can I still withdraw from the contract if I have already paid the premium? Will I get my money back?
No, due to the short duration of the contract, there is no legal right of withdrawal. Once you have paid the premium, you can no longer withdraw from the contract. On the other hand, there is also no possibility for us to cancel once the contract is up and running.
Why should I take out a wedding weather insurance? Why do I need it?
The wedding weather insurance compensates the bridal couples for missed wedding enjoyment or additional costs in case of rain on the wedding day. For as little as a one-off premium of € 179, the bride and groom receive a lump sum compensation of € 5,000 if the wedding is insured.
Of course, we cannot compensate you for bad weather. Proper wedding planning with an appropriate bad weather alternative is very important. However, in the event of a claim, you will receive lump sum compensation for your own use. With this, we want to offer all bridal couples a kind of good mood guarantee, so that there is a great atmosphere even if it rains.
Under what conditions is the insurance cover for the wedding valid?
You can take out wedding weather insurance up to 4 weeks before the wedding date at the latest. We will then immediately send you your policy as well as your premium proposal by e-mail. In order for you to enjoy insurance cover on your wedding day, the insurance premium must be paid no later than the 21st day before the insured wedding. The deposit is on time if you instruct your bank to make the transfer no later than the 21st day before the wedding.
What is meant by a rainfall of 7.5 mm? How is this measured?
The insurance covers a rainfall of 7.5 mm or more, i.e. 7.5 litres/square metre, which falls between 12.00 and 18.00 hrs.
- Normal rainfall has an intensity of around 1-1.5 mm/hour,
- a medium-heavy rain shower has an intensity of around 3.0 mm/hour,
- heavy rainfall around 5.0 mm/hour
- or a downpour 5.0 mm/5 min.
- In a heavy storm, the amount of rain can increase to 20 mm/hour and more.
Such a precipitation amount is basically caused by continuous rain or short heavy showers, but not by drips or drizzles.
The amount of rainfall at the insured wedding venue is measured by UBIMET GmbH using a scientifically recognised meteorological method (RACE weather model). The basis for the calculation is exclusively the measurement data of physical weather stations as well as weather radar and weather satellite data of UBIMET GmbH.
Who can take out wedding weather insurance and where is it valid?
Only persons resident in Austria and Germany can take out wedding weather insurance. Nationality is not relevant. In the event of a claim, payment can only be made to an Austrian or German account.
In principle, we insure weddings that take place in Austria or Germany. If you want to get married in another country, we have to check the circumstances individually.
I am organising a wedding at the moment. What is the advantage of wedding weather insurance?
Wedding weather insurance is a new and innovative addition to complete your wedding planning. Of course, nothing works without a proper plan B in case of bad weather. With wedding weather insurance, however, you receive compensation if your plan B has to come into effect due to rain and, for example, you cannot celebrate outdoors as you had hoped.
This means that rain is not only a proverbial blessing but also a real one (in terms of money) - and it certainly doesn't put the bride and groom in a bad mood. Why should it? The rain finances the honeymoon, for example.
QUESTIONS ABOUT our WEDDING CANCELLATION INSURANCE
Are all types of weddings insured?
The insured wedding is the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception afterwards.
The ceremony for the registration of the partnership is also deemed to be an insured wedding celebration. Furthermore, a celebration of the 25th to 50th anniversary of the wedding or registered partnership is also deemed to be a wedding celebration.
Does the wedding insurance pay if the wedding has to be cancelled due to Corona?
Unfortunately, we cannot insure claims related to Corona. Cancellation of the wedding due to COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, any mutation or variation of SARS-CoV-2 or any other communicable disease is not insured.
Cancellation at your own discretion (e.g. due to fear of infection) or due to an official order is not insured.
What happens if I do not pay the premium on time?
If the single premium is transferred late, i.e. only after the due date according to the premium schedule, the insurance cover shall only commence at this later date. If the single premium is not paid, no contract is concluded. If the premium has not been paid when the insured event occurs, the insurer is not obliged to pay benefits.
Is the cancellation of the wedding due to pregnancy insured?
Abortion or cancellation of the wedding due to pregnancy alone is not an insured reason for cancellation, or this is considered a general exclusion, if the date of confinement is within two months of the insured wedding, or the date of conception is before the commencement of the insurance".
However, complications arising from pregnancy may be covered.
For this, the wedding cancellation insurance must have been taken out more than two months before the pregnancy. Complications occurring in the 1-7 months of pregnancy are therefore insured.
Is it possible to change the date if the wedding has to be postponed?
Yes, if you have to postpone the wedding, you can of course change the insurance to the new date. However, the change is only possible up to 6 weeks before the new wedding date at the latest. In this case, please contact our customer service immediately and inform them of the new wedding date.
If you have already incurred cancellation costs as a result of the postponement and report the loss to us, a change is clearly no longer possible. In this case, you can take out new wedding cancellation insurance for the new date.
Can I still withdraw from the contract if I have already paid the premium? Will I get my money back?
Yes, you can withdraw from the insurance contract within 14 days from the start of the insurance or from receipt of all insurance documents, whichever is later. The withdrawal is on time if the declaration is sent within the deadline. In this case, we will refund any premiums already paid. The withdrawal must be declared at least by e-mail to kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at but can also be made in writing to L'AMIE AG, Hasnerstraße 2, 4020 Linz, Austria.
How much does the wedding cancellation insurance cost?
The premium is calculated individually according to the amount of the costs of your wedding. These correspond to the sum of the costs of all booked services for the wedding celebration. This includes wedding location, catering/party service, accommodation, flower arrangement, wedding stationery, photographer, videographer, wedding bands, DJ or other entertainment - but not reusable products such as wedding dress, wedding suit or jewellery.
You can find an overview of the premiums above
Who can take out wedding cancellation insurance and where is it valid?
Only persons with residence in Austria and Germany can take out the wedding cancellation insurance. Only bridal couples with joint residence in Austria and Germany can be insured. Nationality is not relevant. In the event of a claim, payment can only be made to an Austrian or German account.
In principle, we insure weddings that take place in Austria or Germany. If you want to get married in another country, we have to check the circumstances individually.
Why do I need a wedding cancellation insurance?
Bridal couples not only put all their heart and soul into planning their wedding but also usually a lot of money. It is all the more annoying when the celebrations, planned down to the last detail, cannot take place at short notice for unforeseeable reasons. The wedding cancellation insurance reimburses you for the irrecoverable costs (including the costs of rearranging the insured wedding) in the event of unavoidable and unexpected cancellation or abandonment of the wedding. The reasons for cancellation are:
- Death, accidental injury or illness of the bride and groom, an insured relative or special wedding guest.
- Cancellation of the wedding location due to a natural disaster, fire or water damage
- Travel delay
With the Premium Wedding Cancellation Insurance, we additionally cover the costs in the event of:
- Failure of a key service provider critical to the delivery of the insured wedding due to breach of contract.
- Non-appearance of the booked professional photographer/videographer due to death, accidental injury, illness or an unavoidable travel delay
- wedding dress and/or wedding suit
- Wedding rings
For more information on the insurance cover, please refer to the insurance conditions, the information sheet and the key facts, which you can access at the top of the page.
QUESTIONS ABOUT EVENT WEATHER INSURANCE
Can I insure my private party?
Unfortunately, we do not currently insure private events or celebrations. For weddings we offer our own wedding weather insurance.
What happens if I do not pay the premium on time?
The insurance premium must be paid no later than the 21st day before the insured event. Please refer to your quotation for detailed information on payment deadlines. Unfortunately, we can no longer insure the event if payment is made too late. Late payments will be refunded by us. If the single premium is not transferred, no contract is concluded.
What does the event weather insurance cost? What is the premium made up of?
The premium depends on the date and location of the event (and the historical weather conditions derived from this) as well as the lump sum compensation selected. After you have submitted the enquiry form (download on our homepage or enquiry via the contact form on our homepage) to us, you will immediately receive a non-binding offer for you by e-mail.
The fixed weather insurance is available from a premium of € 179.
Why is there an event weather insurance? Why do I need it?
Especially at outdoor events, the weather plays a decisive role and has a direct impact on visitor numbers. Organisers are almost powerless against this. With the event weather insurance, we compensate you at a lump sum for lost sales, low visitor numbers or additional costs due to rainy weather on the day of your event. In the event of an insured event, you receive a lump sum compensation of up to € 10,000.
Under which conditions is the insurance cover for the event valid?
You can take out event weather insurance up to 4 weeks (28 days) before the event at the latest.
Insurance cover only comes into effect upon timely and full payment of the single premium. Please refer to your quotation for the due date of the premium. Unfortunately, we can no longer insure the event if payment is made too late. Late payments will be refunded by us. If the single premium is not transferred, no contract is concluded.
How does it work if my event lasts several days?
The insurance can only be taken out for one day at a time. If you wish to insure several days, a separate insurance policy is required for each day of the event.
Attention: As already mentioned, the total costs of the event are required for the calculation of the premium. For events lasting several days, the total costs of the event are calculated separately on a pro-rata basis for the respective insured day.
An example: Let's assume your event lasts 3 days and the total costs (all purchased services, pro-rata acquisition costs and use of goods on commission) amount to € 21,000. You now want to insure the first two days of the event. What do you have to do? These two days each account for 40% of the total costs.
To do this, you make a separate application for each of the two days and specify the total costs as follows:
total costs lump sum day 1 40% or EUR 8.400 EUR 2.500 day 2 40% or EUR 8.400 EUR 2.500 day 3 20% or EUR 4.200 EUR 1.250 Who can take out event weather insurance and where is it valid?
Only organisers with club or company headquarters in Austria and Germany can take out the event weather insurance. In the event of a claim, payment can only be made to an Austrian or German account. We do not insure private events or celebrations.
In principle, we insure events that take place in Austria or Germany. If you want to organise a party in another country, we have to check the circumstances individually. Please contact us by e-mail at kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at or call us on +43 732 2596.
What is UBIMET GmbH and the RACE WETTER MODEL?
UBIMET operates its own high-resolution weather model RACE (Refined Atmospheric Condition Evolution). In several data centres worldwide (New York, Melbourne and Vienna), the RACE weather models are fed hourly with the latest weather data (precipitation radar, VERA analyses, lightning, satellite data, aircraft altitude profiles) to further refine the forecasts. Highly complex data assimilation (3dVar) and nudging techniques (LHN) are used for this purpose.
With additional downscaling algorithms based on the most accurate geodata, UBIMET subsequently achieves model resolutions of a few metres. UBIMET is thus in a position to produce highly precise forecasts worldwide, both spatially and temporally, tailored to a wide range of industries. In its own model development department, UBIMET's experts ensure a successive increase in precision through ongoing evaluations and further developments. Leading global weather models such as ECMWF or GFS and specially developed Model Output Statistics procedures are also used in a multi-model approach at UBIMET.
On the following UBIMET websites, you will find additional information on used weather data and weather models.
What is meant by a rainfall of 7.5 mm? How is this measured?
The insurance covers a rainfall of 7.5 mm or more, i.e. 7.5 litres / square metre, which falls in the period from 12.00 to 18.00 hrs.
- Normal rain has an intensity of around 1-1.5 mm/hour,
- a medium-heavy rain shower has an intensity of around 3.0 mm/hour,
- heavy rain by 5.0 mm/hour
- or a downpour 5.0 mm/5 min.
- During a severe storm, the amount of rain can increase to 20 mm/hour and more.
Such a precipitation amount is basically caused by continuous rain or short heavy showers, but not by drips or drizzles.
The amount of rainfall at the insured event location is measured by UBIMET GmbH using a scientifically recognised meteorological method (RACE weather model). The basis for the calculation is exclusively the measurement data of physical weather stations as well as weather radar and weather satellite data of UBIMET GmbH.
How do I calculate the total cost of the event?
These correspond to the budgeted total costs of all purchased services (e.g. rent for tent, DJ, band, security, sanitary facilities, etc.), official levies as well as official security measures (e.g. rescue, police); personnel costs; costs for the use of goods (on commission) as well as proportional acquisition costs. For events lasting several days, the total costs of the event for the respective day shall be calculated separately.
An example for calculating the total costs: An Austrian beverage company organises an annual summer party on the company's own premises for employees, family and friends. The following things are needed for this:
- 1 large tent (rent: € 1,900)
- 4 food and beverage stands (total rent: 2,000 €)
- Catering incl. use of goods for 400 people (6,000 €)
- DJ (1.500 €)
- Proportionate acquisition costs for company-owned bar tables and benches (acquisition costs 10,000 €, useful life 10 years, proportionate costs (depreciation): 1,000 €)
- Other infrastructure, decorations and marketing (1,000 €)
- Organiser's liability insurance (100 €)
- Security, waste disposal and cleaning (1,000 €)
The total cost of the fixed weather insurance application is € 14,500. Thus, the lump sum compensation amounts to EUR 3.750€.
How is the lump sum compensation calculated?
The lump sum compensation makes up about a quarter of the total costs of the event and is calculated as follows:
Total costs Lump sum compensation to 3.000 € not insurable 3.001 – 5 000 € 1.250 € 5.001 – 7 000 € 2.000 € 7.001 – 10.000 € 2.500 € 10.001 – 12.500 € 3.125 € 12.501 – 15.000 € 3.750 € 15.001 – 17.500 € 4.375 € 17.501 – 20.000 € 5.000 € 20.001 – 22.500 € 5.625 € 22.501 – 25.000 € 6.250 € 25.001 – 27.500 € 6.875 € 27.501 – 30.000 € 7.500 € 30.001 – 32.500 € 8.125 € 32.501 – 35.000 € 8.750 € 35.001 – 37.500 € 9.375 € 37.501 – 40.000 € 10.000 € >40.000 on request Adequacy of the sum insured
Please note that the lump sum compensation is always dependent on the total costs of the event. Please find in the table the lump sum indemnity available for the respective total costs.
Please note that if, on the other hand, higher total costs are insured than the actual total costs of the event (over-insurance), you will only receive the lump sum compensation to which you would be entitled according to the actual total costs.
However, it is possible to insure only a part of the actual total costs; in this case, only the corresponding lump sum compensation for the lower total costs chosen by you is available.
Example: if the actual total costs of the event are 20,000 € (insured sum 5,000 €) but 30,000 € (insured sum 7,500 €) are insured, only an insured sum of 5,000 € will be paid out in the event of a claim. For events with total costs of more than € 40,000, we will be happy to provide you with an individual offer. Please contact us for this by e-mail to kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at or call us under +43 732 2596.

How are the insured days billed?
For each commenced day of travel abroad, the daily premium stated on your policy will be charged by means of your three-call number. A day is defined as the period from 00:00 to 23:59 according to Central European Time (CET).
What happens if my mobile phone has been stolen on holiday?
If your phone is stolen, we recommend that you immediately block the phone with your Drei customer service. In this case, please also contact the LAMIE customer service by e-mail or by phone at +43 660/303078, as a lock also deactivates the insurance cover.
Do I pay the same premium for each country?
Yes. The travel cover is valid worldwide and the premium per day of travel abroad is the same for each country.
How often can I use the travel cover? How long am I insured abroad?
The travel cover can be used for as many trips as you wish. The insurance cover applies for a maximum duration of 90 days per trip. Protection is deactivated from the 91st day.
Will any costs incur if I do not travel?
You only pay for insurance days that are actually used, so with travel protection, you do not incur any costs without an activated insurance day.
Do I have to switch on my smartphone every day during my trip?
No, after you have activated your phone abroad once, you will receive confirmation of the activation of the insurance cover after 3 hours. After that, you can also leave your mobile phone switched off until you return.
How do I pay for travel cover?
Payment for the insured days used is conveniently made via your three-call number.
How do I know if the travel protection is activated?
After you have connected to a foreign network once ("roaming") and have not logged back into the Austrian network within 3 hours, the insurance cover activates automatically and you will receive a notification from us by e-mail that your cover is active.
Do I have to consume mobile data to activate the insurance cover?
No consumption of mobile data ("data roaming") is necessary to activate travel protection. It is sufficient for your switched-on mobile phone to connect to the foreign network once.
Is a cancellation insurance included?
No, as the cover is only activated when you leave Austria and is only settled at this point, no cancellation insurance is included in our travel cover.
How can I cancel the travel cover?
The travel cover can be cancelled at any time and without giving reasons by sending an email to kundenservice@lamie-direkt.at. The cancellation will be carried out immediately on the next working day. If you wish to reactivate LAMIE travel cover at a later date, this is possible at any time.
How is the travel protection activated?
The prerequisite for using the travel protection is prior registration for the insurance programme with your Drei-Sprachtarif telephone number.
As soon as you log into a foreign network ("roaming"), the travel protection is activated. When you return to Austria and log on to the home network, your insurance will be deactivated. It is important that you take your mobile phone with you and switch it on once when crossing the border (or after landing in the case of air travel), otherwise, we will not recognise that you are abroad. Data roaming does not need to be activated at any time.
Do I have to announce my planned trips in advance?
The travel cover is a real-time insurance. You do not have to tell us in advance when, how long or where you are travelling. The cover applies from the moment your mobile phone connects to the foreign network or you return to your home network.
As a result, you do not pay unnecessary premiums if you do not start your trip or return home earlier than planned. But you also don't risk being abroad without insurance cover if you unexpectedly stay longer. Your travel cover gives you complete flexibility.
How does the family tariff work?
When taking out the family tariff, you have the option of additionally registering another adult and up to 3 children as insured persons. By children we mean your children and the children of your spouse, your registered partner or your life partner, provided they are under 18 years (this also includes foster children and adopted children).
The basic requirement for insurance cover is that these persons travel together with you, as your three-call number is the trigger for the insurance cover ("roaming").
Can I also use the travel cover if I am in a border region and my mobile phone often switches to the foreign network?
In order to be entitled to insurance cover, you must have dialled into a foreign network once and not returned to Austria within 3 hours. The insurance cover is only activated after 3 hours from logging into a foreign network ("roaming"). The constant switching between the home network and a foreign network, therefore, does not lead to activation.
Do I have to use travel protection for every trip?
No. If you wish, you can deactivate the travel protection individually at the beginning of each individual trip. By means of a confirmation e-mail that you receive from us after 3 hours of constant connection to the foreign network, you are offered the option of deactivating the protection for the respective trip via the link provided. In this case, the insurance cover is deactivated for the entire trip. After returning to Austria, the cover will be automatically reactivated in the same way for the next trip.
